The Jubilee Inn is a private country home, almost seven hundred feet above sea level and situated just five minutes from Molland, Exmoor and the numerous world class Devon Game/Clay Shoots. Twenty minutes from Junction 27 of the M5, the London Paddington train to Tiverton Parkway takes under 2 hours. (Private car hire available).
We make a unique and convivial choice for a well-deserved country escape, targeted for those travelling to enjoy the multitude of country pursuits offered in and around Exmoor National Park. Opening seasonally for staying guests there is plenty of fishing, hunting and shooting opportunities, from driven high ground shoots to the smaller farm shoots if you prefer the outdoor life. It is equally well located for those who seek the comforts of a handful of boutique en-suite guest rooms, hearty and honestly priced bespoke menus (from local produce), fine wines, gins, whiskeys and ales. Alternatively, exclusive use guests may bring their own chef/staff if preferred – this is a bespoke home for those who expect a little more from their leisure time.
Originally a public ‘Roadhouse’ Inn from the late 1930’s, the property has prospered through transformation and change since opening in 1936 as “The Royal Jubilee Inn”, owned by farmers to film stars, Londoners to locals, through wars and peacetime but always with a with a rich history! Many a yarn remains to be spun over a hot toddy or vintage port, with feet de-booted, bottoms nestled into the Chesterfields and aching limbs stretched out after a day’s sporting. When the sun is out, you can enjoy the South-facing terrace for your al-fresco meals or just lounge around in the hot tub and enjoy stunning landscapes.
With four Taste of the West Awards and admission into the Trencherman’s Guide, voted in the top ten of The Sunday Times 50 Best Value British Hotels and listed in The Saturday Times top 50 Best Places to Eat, Drink and Dine (2017), we have retained our standards whilst moving away from a more commercial offering. The Elliott family returned the premises to a private home in late 2017, still welcoming special guests to enjoy our hospitality, as well as the occasional interactions with our characterful locals!
We welcome exclusive use of the property for TV, film, and private events, be they celebratory (we are also licenced to hold weddings) or corporate entertainments. Complete event planning is available for those with limited time. We can facilitate your stay with connections to sporting venues for your further enjoyment.
Hair and beauty/massage treatments can be arranged with prior notice. With friendly staff ready to fire up the hot tub for you, we aim to make your stay one you will want to repeat time and time again. Dog and horse facilities are also available with notice if you wish to bring your gundogs or horses with you..
